GOOD TO KNOW
Public holiday or common day off?
Christmas Eve and Midsummer Eve are widely treated as non-working days, but they are not church public holidays. Whether you are entitled to paid time off can depend on your employment contract and collective agreement. Shops, transport, and services may use holiday schedules, so check the provider before travelling.
Dates follow the established Finnish calendar rules and should be checked against the University of Helsinki Almanac Office when its 2027 list is published. This planner is general information, not employment-law advice.
